Brett is Vice President and General Counsel to TheJudge Americas, the US arm of TheJudge Group. Brett is experienced in structuring
litigation finance for the full specturm of commercial litigation, including contract disputes, intellectual property and trade secrets
litigation, fidiciary duty and fraud claims and both investment treaty and commercial arbitration.
Brett has written extensively on the topic of financing litigation with articles appearing in numerous publications including Corporate
Counsel Magazine, Daily Journal and Litigation Finance Journal.
Brett is an attorney admitted in California and was formerly at O’Melveny & Myers LLP where his practice focused on mergers and
acquisitions and general corporate transactions. Brett is experienced in working in every phase of the corporate lifecycle with both
public and private entities.
In addition to working closely with law firm clients, Brett is works directly with corporate counsel and financial controllers at major blue
chip organizations, not only in terms of solutions designed to protect or remove their legal spend on contentious matters, but also the
wider possibilities that arise from using litigation disputes as an asset for a variety of corporate financing requirements.
Brett has also led two technology companies. This included founding and acting as CEO for M&A MarketWatch, which developed
unique data and analytics for mergers and acquisition deal terms and software for corporate attorneys. He has closed numerous rounds
of financing and advised dozens of early stage and growth companies in finance, legal strategy and product development.
He holds a J.D. with a Specialization in Business from UCLA School of Law.
