Hugues BRUNET has started his career into Legal Department at CMA CGM Head Office in Marseille, France, world’s third largest container shipping group. Specialized in Business Law, International Litigation, Maritime Law, Maritime Litigation, International Arbitration and Contracts Law, he could handle thousands of litigation files related to the worldwide Global Accounts of the group. This scope did include all cargo, container and demurrage claims received by the group, but recovery actions against liable third parties. He was in charge of worldwide Global Accounts contracts review, drafting and negotiation too, focused on legal, compliance and ethics clauses.
Hugues BRUNET has decided to continue his career into international law firms. This is why he is now working as Legal Counsel for SRDB Law Firm, international and business-oriented law firm, with presence in France, in Iran, in Lebanon and in Africa. He can develop his litigation and contracts review skills, but his compliance skills too. This means due diligence and compliance advices to clients, to avoid risks to invest and/or to work with specific people in a specific place, due to extraterritorial laws.
Hugues BRUNET was graduated with honors from Aix-Marseille University in Business and Commercial Law and he has completed a post-graduated certification at Harvard University. On another side, he is finalizing a PhD Degree in International Business Law and Compliance at Aix-Marseille University, dissertation topic being “International Sanctions and Maritime Transportation”.
