Olivia de Patoul is Senior Legal Counsel of Deminor Recovery Services, a leading privately-owned and international litigation funder with offices in Brussels, London, Hamburg, New York, Hong Kong, Milan, and Luxembourg. After spending almost eight years in the M&A department of a law firm in Belgium, Olivia joined Deminor and opened its office in Hong Kong in 2018. She developed the activities of Deminor in Asia during 3 years and, early 2021, she relocated to Belgium but has remained since then in charge of the Middle East and Asia. Olivia is responsible for the marketing efforts in the region but she also assesses new funding opportunities. She is part of Deminor’s enforcement desk, which focuses on assisting clients to obtain a successful recovery after having a final positive decision from a local court or arbitration tribunal. Olivia studied law at the University of Louvain-La-Neuve and did part of her Master in Law at the University of Leuven. Olivia has a LL.M. degree from Queen Mary University (London) in International Arbitration. Olivia is a member of several local associations and frequently organizes seminars related to litigation funding in Asia. Olivia has been recognized as a “Thought Leader” in Third Party Funding by Who’s Who Legal in its 2021 guide. She speaks French, English and Dutch.
