The manging partner of MAK, Mr. Sharif Akkad, has over 19 years of experience and is considered a
leading lawyer in KSA and the Middle East, with respect to franchise, agencies, distributorship,
intellectual property and license agreements and related matters.
To date, Mr. Akkad has advised and worked on more than (400) franchise, distributorship, agency and

Notably, Mr. Akkad been engaged by the Saudi Minister of Commerce to contribute to the new Saudi
Franchise Law. Further, MAK has worked on the Standard Franchise Model Agreements to be available
on the website of the Ministry of Commerce.
Moreover, among another (13) lawyers worldwide, Mr. Akkad was the only Arabic lawyer that
contributes to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s publication (WIPO) titled, ‘In Good
Company, Managing Intellectual Property Issues in Franchising’, due to his vast knowledge and
