Director of Legal Services for Litigation and General Affairs at University of Johannesburg | South Africa

Taheera completed her LLB Law Degree at the University of Johannesburg and went on to complete her 2 years of articles at one of South Africa’s leading law firms, Webber Wentzel. She gained experience in Mergers and Acquisitions as well as comprehensive practice in Commercial Litigation. Taheera was admitted as an attorney in 2014 and practiced as a Dispute Resolution Attorney in the areas of Insolvency Law, Construction Law and General Commercial Litigation. During her time at Webber Wentzel, she worked with various international clients and many leading South African Corporates.

Taheera joined the University of Johannesburg during 2017 as the Director of Legal Services for Litigation and General Affairs. She currently deals with the litigation matters that the University is involved in and has expanded her knowledge of the Higher Education Environment within South Africa.

Taheera has a keen interest in Intellectual Property Law and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in the subject.
