Tim Williams – Senior Counsel, Dispute Management, Wärtsilä Energy Solutions
Tim Williams is head of dispute management at Wärtsilä Energy Solutions. Tim’s role is to build and lead the case teams with external counsel and external experts in claims and disputes relating to Wärtsilä’s EPC and EEQ projects around the world. In addition, Tim directly supports the project execution teams in conflict avoidance and conflict mitigation, as well as dispute resolution. He has managed a number of disputes for the Energy Solutions business, in particular arbitrations, expert determinations and mediations.
In his earlier career at Wartsila, Tim was Area Counsel for Wärtsilä Energy Solutions (Middle East & Asia), and led a team of three in project development, equipment sales, project execution, after sales support and claims and disputes. Prior to this Tim was Counsel for Wärtsilä Development & Finance, in which role he was responsible for supporting the in-house independent power project development team.
Tim was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in November 1993. He is a CEDR accredited mediator, holds an LLB from the University of Southampton (1990) and an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics (1998).
